Graduate Trainee – Workshop Assistant at Mechanic on the Go

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Trainee Workshop Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with zero experience in the automotive industry but who possesses a strong willingness to learn and grow within the field. As a Trainee Workshop Assistant, you will undergo comprehensive training to become proficient in using diagnostic equipment and assisting our technicians in vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.

Responsibilities:

Shadow experienced technicians and learn from their expertise in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
Assist in conducting initial inspections of customer vehicles to identify issues or areas of concern.
Learn to operate diagnostic machines and scanning tools to accurately diagnose vehicle problems.
Assist in performing basic automotive maintenance tasks under supervision, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment in the workshop.
Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on the status of their vehicles and explaining recommended repairs or services.
Collaborate with the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Continuously seek opportunities for learning and skill development to enhance automotive knowledge and proficiency.
Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take direction from senior team members.
Maintain professionalism and uphold company values in all interactions with customers and colleagues.

Requirements:

A recent graduate with a degree or diploma in automotive technology or a related field.
Strong passion for the automotive industry and a desire to pursue a career as an automotive technician.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
Ability to follow instructions closely and demonstrate a high level of obedience and reliability.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and a willingness to drive vehicles within the workshop premises.
Prior knowledge or experience in automotive repair or maintenance is considered a plus but not required.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
