Legal Associate at SHQ Legal
Role Description
- This is a full-time hybrid role for a Legal Associate located in Lagos, with flexibility for some remote work.
- The Legal Associate will be responsible for legal document preparation, analyzing legal issues, and communicating with clients.
- The Legal Associate will also be responsible for assisting with other legal tasks as needed.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Draft and advise on complex agreements for clients in a broad range of industries.
- Oversee legal research and provide advice and legal support to clients in multiple industries including Banking & finance, capital markets, intellectual property & entertainment, technology & startups, real estate, logistics and FMCG; Dispute resolution, Debt recovery, data privacy etc.
- Support clients with transaction negotiation, attend meetings and other clients’ engagements.
- Oversee the conduct of data privacy audits and handle other regulatory preparation and submission of license applications and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance and corporate law with practical experience
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail
- Proactive and organized approach to serving handling multiple tasks and clients
Qualifications
- Law expertise and knowledge of legal procedures
- Knowledge of legal document preparation
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research and understand complex legal issues
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Law
Requirements
- Bachelors of Law (LL.B)
- Nigerian Law School
- Between 5-6 years post call experience
